Dive Into Raja Ampat and Waiwo Dive Resort Raja Ampat are located on Waigeo Island -the largest island in Raja Ampat with the Earth’s most diverse marine life- where the breeze blows through the trees, while the waves breaks through waters.
The beach front Resort has been built into the surrounding jungle. In the canopy covering the resort local wildlife such as the Indonesian Cuscus and birds of paradise can be found. The resort offers 3 different categories of rooms all with 24 hour electricity, western ensuite bathrooms and Air Conditioning
Dive Information
Raja Ampat has one of the highest numbers of fish species of any place on the planet, making it one of the top 5 underwater photography destinations. This area also host some of the world's most beautiful coral reefs.
Wobbegong sharks and reef sharks are commonly seen, especially once you learn where to look for the Wobbegongs. The rare walking shark is also found on certain night dives. The endemic Raja Ampat Epaulette Shark (walking shark) is also found on certain night dives. This small, harmless carpet shark only comes out at night. While appearing to walk on the ocean floor with its fins, it can actually move surprisingly fast
Jacks, barracuda, Napoleon wrasse, trevally, and bumphead parrotfish are seen on many dives. Pygmy seahorses are found at most dive sites, along with a good variety of nudibranchs. Macro diving at the piers is excellent. You will also see lots of juvenile fish such as batfish, angelfish, butterflyfish, barramundi cod, parrotfish, etc.
Waiwo Dive Resort has 32 top dive sites all within a 60-minute boat ride of the resort. There are some special 2-tank dive trips available to further away places but there is a minimum of 4 divers needed and a small surcharge.

Recommended dive experience
- Ideal: Advanced Open Water (or equivalent) with 50+ dives to fully enjoy the best sites, as many top spots have significant currents.
- Minimum: Open Water (OW) divers should possess experience with drift dives and good buoyancy control, as some dives can start deeper and involve strong currents.
