Dhigurah island is located in the south part of Ari Atoll, only 20 minutes away by plane or 2 hours by ferry from Male. The island is one of the longest in Maldives and indeed that is what Dhigurah means in Dheveli the Maldivian local language: Long Island. The beach is 2 and 1/2 KM long and leads to a sand bank which is perfect for sunset watching wildlife watching and walks. There is a school with around 100 children, a medical centre with a doctor and 761 local people who are happy to share their beautiful island with guests.
